Find your house on Google street view

8 June 2010 Google streetview and the Gautrain were launched in South Africa. We had our first experience of the Gautrain at the tweetuponrails a few months ago. Yesterday we went for a rytjie from Sandton to Rhodesfield. It cost us R33 return plus R10 for the card. If you are parking there it will cost you R9.50 a day.

I was looking for a place near soccer city. I went to google maps. I was amazed to see that it showed the actual street exactly how it looks. You can rotate the image at 360 degrees and see the whole street. Then I went to see if my house was there. Amazing it was there as well. The Nani’s taxi was dropping of kids from school. I went to see my parents home, it was there as well. I went to see my in laws home, it was there as well. I went to see Ogies, pothole filled Ogies was there as well. I was also able to see what washing my Nanima had on her line. Amazing. See if your house is there. If you seen a strange looking car with a camera on top passing you, that was the google street car and you most probably are on google street view.
